Duck hunting

Argentina duck hunting

The environment of the duck hunting makes it one of the most exciting hunting of its kind.

It is well-known that Argentina is one of the most exquisite places for small game, particularly, for water-bird hunting, such as ducks. This kind of hunting is carried out in the province of Corrientes. 11 different duck species will be available to you, namely:

  • Rosy-billed Pochard
  • White-faced whistling duck
  • Speckeld teal
  • Silver teal
  • Southern Wigeon
  • Brazilian duck
  • Red Shoveler
  • White-cheeked pintail
  • Brown pintail.
  • Fulvous tree duck
  • Cinnamon teal

Ducks are expected in blinds made of natural vegetation from the area, in or outside the water, which gives the hunting a natural frame that is beyond comparison. Ducks are attracted using decoys and whistles.

Whereas the daily permitted limit is of 40 ducks, we guarantee 25 ducks per morning.

Besides, a week before the hunting starts, the lakes are baited with sorghum and corn, since, in Argentina, it is allowed to attract ducks with food. In this way, we achieve a successful season (from May to August). Normally, the duck hunting is performed in the morning while partridge hunting is performed in the afternoon.

For those hunters who wish to shoot a considerable amount of ducks per day, in March/April, we have special permits to shoot in rice growers, before they are harvested. This hunting can be performed in the morning and in the afternoon, which allows us to guarantee that the top permitted limit of 40 ducks per day is reached.

Partridge hunting

Partridge hunting is one of the most traditional practices in Argentina; sown fields and hills are covered waiting for the “flying up”, with pointers.

Despite the partridge flight being straight, partridges have a great ability to change their course sharply when they detect any movement, which makes it difficult for the hunter to shoot.

Partridge hunting is normally carried out in the afternoon, combined with duck or goose hunting (both performed in the morning). In this way, a formidable small game circuit is closed.
